This place was the second riad we stayed in Marrakech. Dar Jaguar riad is located in the centre of the Souk, an Arab market. We took the taxi from our first riad to Cafe’ de France. It’s like a pick up and drop off point in the Souk.
A gentleman from the hotel was already waiting for us at the pick up point, pushed our luggage across the square and through the Souk to the Riad. If you like to stay in the centre of Souk, this place is one of the good options. It’s nice and quiet, despite being so close to the market. You’ll find many cute and famous rooftop cafes like Nomad and Cafe Des Epices in just few mins walk.
After we stepped in to the riad and waiting for our room, we were served delicious Moroccan mint tea with some cookies by the lovely staff. Drinking tea in Morocco is not something that is done on-the-go or in a hurry, it’s meant to be savored and enjoyed slowly. So we took our time, enjoying and exploring in Dar Jaguar.
The State of Grace suite
From the variety of textures (velvet bedspread, satin & silk cushions), the dark coloured walls, the lovely fireplace to the stunning gold bathtub, this room has a character.
After we checked in to our room, we went directly to the rooftop terrace where we were working on our tan. Rooftop hangs is one of my favourite things to do in Marrakech. And this place has a great view to do so.
Dar Jaguar itself is like something out of an Interior Design magazine and the staff who work there couldn’t do more to make sure that we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.
